KUET traces its lineage to Khulna Engineering College (1967), renamed Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT) Khulna in 1986, and elevated to a full university under the KUET Act 2003. Campus: 117.48 acres at Fulbarigate, ~15 km from Khulna city centre. Student body per Wikipedia: 7,941 total (5,916 UG, 1,809 PG, 153 PhD, 63 other); 463 academic staff.
